Just wanted to pop in to say “hi!” I didn’t take any pictures at the cookout this afternoon because I feel a little awkward explaining the blog to a brand new group of people I’ve never met, but I had such a fun time!
I did take a self portrait, though, as evidence of my cheerful mood. See?
We feasted on shish kabobs of marinated chicken, squash, cherry tomatoes, and pineapple, hamburgers, roasted potatoes, salad, and fresh fruit. Oh . . . and LOTS of dessert! Angel food cake, a giant cookie covered in frosting and fruit, and my Funfetti Cookies! I’m telling ya, they’re a party in a box!
Whenever I bring these anywhere, they get RAVE reviews, and I never leave with any to bring home. Good thing I saved a few for myself! That picture above may or may not have been my plate when I got home tonight . . . X2.
I thought I shared the recipe for these once before, but a few people asked me about it today, so here it is! I can’t remember where I first saw it—maybe on Julie’s blog?—but I know it works well with any kind of cake mix. I just happen to think Funfetti is the best!
1 box Funfetti or Rainbow Chip cake mix
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup oil
1 can rainbow chip frosting
Mix everything together and drop cookies in rounded spoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake in a 375* oven for 10 minutes and cool completely on wire racks. Frosting is optional . . . but not if you’re me!

It’s Sarah Jio’s The Violets of March. I’ve been reading Sarah’s Glamour blog, Vitamin G, for several years now, so I’ve been looking forward to checking out her book. I’ll be sure to let you know what I think!
