PIVOT!

Well, it’s empty.

001

After working all day yesterday, everything I own is either safely tucked into my pod or crammed into the back of my car. I feel like I should be having some sort of existential crisis about the fact that my whole life fits in a box, but I’ve got too many other things to worry about.

Of note, however, is this funny anecdote. As the 3 of us were moving the couch down the 3 flights of stairs yesterday, Steph commented, “This is just like when they moved the couch on Friends!” We all kind of laughed, and then it got quiet again because we sort of needed to focus on what we were doing. As we rounded the 2nd flight of stairs, Adam goes, “PIVOT!” just like Ross. OMG. Hilarious. We were dying laughing. OK, maaaaybe you had to be there, but if you have no idea what I’m talking about, watch this clip and tell me it’s not hysterical.

Ah, gotta love Friends.

All in all, it was a successful moving day. Thank goodness for that! The hard part is over—for now. Phew!

And at the end of the day, I was rewarded with hanging out with this chick!

Since I don’t actually need to be in DC until Monday night, I’m spending my last weekend in Richmond with Bryce and Danielle at their place. And yes, I did have to put on a sweater last night because it was only 80*. I’m going to freeze my butt off in Michigan. I even look all hunched up and cold in that picture. I’ve got to do something about that.

Anyway, we celebrated Friday night with some Skinny Pina Coladas starring this trifecta of awesomeness.

003

We made these last week before Steph’s wedding and they were so good that I had to share them with my Richmond besties. I’m not very good when it comes to eyeballing proportions of drinks, but I’d say these were 2 parts rum to one part each coconut water and pineapple juice. Yes, strong, but also delicious. Play around with the proportions until it tastes good to you. Isn’t that kinda how you mix any drink anyway???

With our Skinny Pina Coladas, we made a little buffet of snacks. Kind of like wine and cracker night, but amped up!

I love Poey in the background. She’s all, “Hey, guys! Where’s my plate?” Too funny.

Our spread included mango salsa and multigrain tortilla scoops (so delicious), super garlicky hummus, spinach dip, Roasted Gorgonzola Crack(ers) from Trader Joes, and Parmesan Garlic Pita Chips.

005

Pretty sure I could eat mango salsa with a spoon and call it dinner, but I was nice and shared last night.

Danielle also had a little leftover wedding cake to share for dessert. Given that I put down something like 4 pieces of said cake at her wedding, I was all over it.

Just as good as I remembered! I wonder if there’s any of the lemon left . . . mmmmm.

I had planned to get up and go for a run on my favorite trail this morning, then turn in my apartment keys. My body, however, is in some serious pain. Let’s just say my strict regimen of not strength training caught up to me. I am crazy sore from moving. My quads, calves, biceps, everything! It all hurts. Sad smile I know, poor me.

sorry for yourself

So maybe I’ll do some yoga. Or maybe I’ll get a massage. Or maybe I’ll just lay by the pool. At any rate, I think I’ve earned a rest day!

What’s your favorite “skinny” drink?

Do you count moving as a workout?

Skinny drink-wise, I love Skinnygirl Margaritas, but these pina coladas are pretty good, too. I am also, as of late, pretty into Iced Skinny Vanilla Lattes from Starbucks.

And, well, moving definitely worked me out yesterday. Yowsa!

  1. LOVE that ep of Friends. When I read your blog title, that’s exactly what I was thinking. hee!
Fav skinny drink right now is vodka and club soda with any of the Crystal Light cocktail mixers – margarita, appletini, and mojito. SO good and tastes just like the real thing to me.
